From picking the fabrics, to piecing, to quilting, I loved every part of making this quilt! |
Close up of the center Sacred Geometry motif. |
All four of the sections were quilted with the same designs. I used threads that matched the fabric. |
Overall I think we achieved the intended effect of the quilting, my husband 'approved' the designs along the way :) |
Reversible quilt! |
If you have not heard about Amy's online quilt show, you really, really, really have to go check it out!! I promise, you will not be disappointed! Talk about inspiration overload :)
Until next time, keep on quilting!
I love that your husband helped pick some of the designs. Your quilting is stunning as usual.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that this quilt would be perfect for the home machine quilted category, Judy. Your quilting on this is stunning and I *love* how collaborative an effort it was with your husband! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilting!!! And the pattern is really great.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Rike
Oh Hooray!!! Shock Wave is the quilt that I so hoped you would enter Judy! The pattern from Yvonne, you and your husband co-creating this amazing quilting design, and every last detail of this quilt are stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a beautiful quilt! I love the quilting and the way it compliments the peicing. I'm totally intrigued by "sacred geometry", will be googling it for sure!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is fabulous!! And I think it's great your hubby helped choose the quilting designs!
ReplyDeleteThe quilting really is gorgeous on this! Note to self: don't enter this category.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I like the coherent theme of the quilt - and it's just pretty.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it. Your quilting is amazing and suits this quilt so well. Love Renee's comment about not entering this category- totally agree!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this quilt. You know I just watched Avengers (was trying to be a supportive wife!)
ReplyDeleteYour quilt could be the maze that holds the code for Thor to find the Tesseract/Sceptre. With quilting so scientific, it can be a treasure map or an offering to the high priestess of Asgard. What I am trying to say is this - It is outta this world!!!
Your color, design and quilting make this quilt sing! You have captured the wonderfulness this can be--Love It!
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is awesome! I don't stand a chance with my entries.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see your quilt, I see more. You two nailed it on the quilting motif; it literally ripples out from the sacred geometry design in the centre out to the four corners. I love love love this. Please put me as the recipient for it in your will, 'k? And, uh, ya, I agree with Renee; not going to put my "Pocketful" into this category; phew, glad I read your post before I entered, lol! Seriously, it is mesmerizing in its beauty and design from fabric choices to the FMQ. And the photography is superb; if it's this fabulous in photos, it would surely take my breath away in person. Sooo happy this is entered; you must win!
ReplyDeleteJudy, I'm laughing about everyone's comments, deciding not to enter this category and sure can understand. I've been hemming and hawing about whether to link a quilt, thinking "Oh I couldn't hold a candle to that!" If we think about it though as a festival that's all about community and the sharing of ideas and excitement over fabulous creations, well then we all have a place there. It's another chance to show the world how great quilt bloggers are!
ReplyDeleteLOL - I love Preeti's comment too! It had occurred to me that Shock Waves should be in a Dr. Who episode.
I am always inspired when I stop by....and amazed you do this beautiful, creative quilting on your domestic machine!!
ReplyDeletelove this quilt! you - and your husband - did a marvelous job of interpreting and advancing the design. Gorgeous quilting, and I love Christina's books, too!
