I've blocked before binding, but the quilt has always had stitching around the edge from being basted on the frame. Also, if you can soak your quilt in the machine instead of agitating it to death, it will help cut down on fraying. I don't have that option since I have a front loading machine, so instead I choose a gentle cycle. There is a little fraying, but not unmanageable. <br />P.S. I love how you chose to quilt your coloured triangles.
